Player Pokemon News

On Sunday November 25th, I went to the Streamwood Library for a league day. I went right after church, so the trip wasn't long. It started at 12:30 and ended at 3:00 P.M. I brought my deck along and went to the league. I played against really nice people who were new, and were veterans of the place. I ended up talking to the Moscows, who I am good friends with. I lost my games because I had really bad starts, plus I couldn't get any of the cards I wanted out at all. I still had a lot of fun. The Organizer, Mr. Moscow, was really nice and glad that we had come to the league. He helped me with my deck and gave me tips on how to play it. Overall, I had a blast, and I would love coming back there again. This was a great day, and I can't wait to go back again.

Boundaries Crossed Prerelease I was at Top Cut Comics in Loves Park a few weeks ago for the Boundaries Crossed Prerelease. It was pretty crowded, but not as crowded as much as the Dragons Exalted prerelease. My good cards were: Cresselia Ex, Computer Search, and Vileplume with the ability. I didn't do so well during the tournament, but my ranking was good as most of the Seniors and Juniors dropped out, but we didn't, so we got everything we needed. The Promo was Flygon with an ability that as long as it is active, it does 10 damage to the enemy Pokemon between turns. It is pretty good if you know how to use it correctly. Overall, the tournament was fun, and the ACE SPECS are overpowered (trust me, they are). There are a lot of reprints though (no Ether, darn), but we got Landorus EX, so I don't know what to expect. I know its been a while since this happened, but I wanted to do this article because I did so good, plus the staff was really nice. The store was Outpost Gaming in Kenosha,Wisconsin. The organizer was Pat Fuge, who was a really nice guy. He talked to us all after the rounds, while having great judge calls. I had a blast at the event. I got 3rd place out of 20 people. I am not that very good at tournaments, but I was very excited about my winning. I got 4 packs and a Victory Cup which the card says: "Flip a coin. If heads, search your deck for a Pokemon, reveal it, and put it in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterword." This card is pretty much Poke Ball, but with a shinier card image. The card isn't the best, but I got it free, so how can I complain. Overall, this was a really fun day, can't wait for more events from Mr. Fuge. I was in Fort Wayne, Indiana a week ago, and I participated in the tournament. I ended up going 14 out of 64 seniors. I got knocked out of the first round of top cut though. My opponent played Hydreigon/Darkrai, while I played the same, but with a few card differences. Some examples are: He played 3-4 max potions, while I played only 2, and he had more catchers than I did. But I was close. I won game one with ease. The second game was a disaster. I couldn't get set up for the life of me. For the third game, I could have won, but the few differences made the gamechanger. Overall, I got half a box with it, so I was excited. The day wasn't just about battling though. I played Black 2 and got a lot of Join Avenue people to come. I also got to meet Pooka, and get his picture with me. He works for TheTopCut  , a really famous Pokemon site that works on TCG videos on the gameplay, and other cool bits of info. It is good that I did well because this is my last year as a Senior, s

Introduction My name is Ethan, and I am a player of Pokemon, the Trading Card Game. I am in the Senior division, and I    play very competitively. I go to a Pokemon league in Cary, Illinois. This is my last year as a Senior. My best achievements are: 3rd place Top Cut Cities 2011-2012, Top 16 Regionals 16th place 2011-2012, and this year, Top Cut Regionals 2012. I am improving slightly.
